Some quick sustainable ideas if you are building include: using recycled concrete for a driveway or path, if you are building a concrete slab use recycled steel reinforcing and substitute a percentage of the concrete with flyash, use solid bamboo flooring for a natural sustainable look, use natural oils and varnishes, avoid aluminium and steel unless they are recycled products, use FSC certified, recycled or reclaimed timber, use MDF boards that have FSC certified timber as its main source, use low VOC paints, seal gaps to stop air leakage, use lots of insulation, recycle waste water.
